The VANguard Federated Authentication Service (FAS) allows a Service Provider or external system to authenticate you using your organisation’s network credentials. This provides a seamless login experience.

You will only need to follow these steps the first time you try and access the system from a particular computer and browser or if you clear your browser cookies. Once you have authenticated the first time you will be automatically re-authenticated whenever you are logged into your organisation network. You will not have to manage a separate set of credentials.

Steps

  1. Select the organisation you represent by typing the name in the search box and click “continue”.
  2. You will be directed to the external system you need to access.

Issues selecting your organisation

If your organisation is not listed, contact your service desk to check what name they used when FAS service was initially connected. They may have used your team or section name.

If you select your organisation and get directed to a page and you need to provide more details, contact your service desk for instructions on what to do next.

Troubleshooting

A troubleshooting tool is available to help your service desk diagnose issues when they are trying to connect to a service. If your service desk has asked you to run the troubleshooting tool, please select troubleshooting and follow the instructions on the screen.
